Communication that is used to influence people into taking a desired course of action in regards to products and or services is most commonly know as advertising. These communications are almost always paid for by some sort of a sponsor. There are a number of various channels through which these messages are transmitted. There is traditional media which includes newspaper, magazines, television, radio, outdoor, and mail. There is also what is now known as new media which includes but is not limited to, websites, cellphone text messaging, web banner ads, and social media networking.
